Below is the approximate schedule for tournaments held annually, both in Hawaii and regionally/nationally:
February (President’s Day Weekend): Pepsi Youth Championships (Scratch Singles event divided by age)
April: USBC Youth City Tournament (Scratch or Handicap Singles, Doubles, and Four-Man Team event divided broadly by age/division). (Rules and Shift Information only – please contact the coaches via email or in-person to sign up.)
May/June (Tentative): Hawaii Bowlers Tour Summer Series (previous years’ events included singles, youth doubles, adult/youth doubles, team, and a final HBT Summer Series championship)
July: USBC Junior Gold Championships for pre-qualified bowlers; Location differs by year (2022: Grand Rapids, MI; 2023: Indianapolis, IN; 2024: Detroit, MI). National Youth Open Championships, open to all bowlers, are held concurrently.
Junior Gold 2023 dates: July 10-14 (Adult); July 14-22 (Youth)
Junior Gold 2024 dates: July 8-20; most likely July 8-12 (Adult), July 12-20 (Youth)
September (Labor Day weekend): Leeward Doubles (Scratch or Handicap Doubles event divided broadly by team average)
October (high school bowlers only): Division Championships (OIA/ILH); HHSAA State Tournament (usually held on the last Thursday/Friday of October or the first Thursday/Friday of November)
December (the week between Christmas & New Year’s): JBT Main Event in Las Vegas (Scratch or Handicap Singles event, divided by division [and gender in the Scratch division])
